  1. I am looking for a song they played on the shows. And i know one group that sang it was Cream. I remeber sonny walking down the beach at the end of the show.

  2. Are you talking about the song ‘Cry’ by Godley & Creme, it was played at the end of the episode ‘Definitely Miami’ in season 2?

  3. The music Michael Mann selects is just as important to him as the colours he seeks in his visuals as he tells a storyline. His choices are extraordinary and eclectic, and for the most part with incredible emotional effect. Mann is a master at mixing visuals, storyline, character and music to generate high peaks of emotional responsiveness.

  4. Sabrina says:

Does anyone know the name of the instrumental song (probably by Jan Hammer) played in season 2, Episode 22 “Sons and Lovers?” It’s played in the beginning when Mendoza gets shot, then again when they open fire on orlando calderon, then again at the end when Tubbs blows away that dirty cop into the harbor.

  5. I’m mad about Michael Mann, and as a mixmaster I release a dozen of non official compilations and mixes with a lot of music coming from Miami Vice (episodes tracks and ost), The Insider, Heat…I could say that is one of my main inspirations. I’d like to put my blog adress here acesoirmusic.blogspot.com, all free music, with a lot of “Urban Night Themes” and more nice music. Thanks for the music guide in the website, it helps me a lot – Leslie

  6. I wish the theme song Just a Job to Do by Genesis from the tv show The Insider was added to this Michael Mann cd compilation of films that he’s directed. The Insider starred Nicholas Campbell and Stoney Jackson.
