Alexis Arguello, former boxing champion and sitting mayor of Managua, Nicaragua, was found dead in his home on July 1. Preliminary reports suggest his death was a suicide. He was 57.

While Miami Vice fans may remember him from his stint as Pepe Moya in the first season episode, Milk Run, the Hall of Fame boxer’s most famous match against Aaron Pryor in 1982 was termed “The Fight of the Decade”. His career record was 82-8, with 65 knockouts, and he held titles in the featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight divisions.
